Perhilitan Denies Catching Young Bigfoot
April 19, 2006
KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- The Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) Wednesday denied having caught a young Bigfoot in a forest near the Tanjung Leman Jetty in Mersing.
Perhilitan Director-General Datuk Musa Nordin said none of its staff either from its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur or Johor had captured a young Bigfoot in the forest.
The Malay daily Berita Harian today reported that a young Bigfoot was caught by a group of 10 men believed to be from Perhilitan after it had been shot with a tranquilizer near the jetty, about 70 km from Kota Tinggi, two weeks ago.
"During the period reported, Perhilitan did not mount any operation in the area," Musa said in a statement today.
In JOHOR BAHARU, State Tourism and Environment Committee Chairman Freddie Long said if it was true that the creature existed and had been captured, it should be surrendered to the Johor government for further action including for research.
He was met after attending the State Executive Council weekly meeting at Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim.
