I was driving on the Loxton-Swan Reach Road. It’s a road that’s not used a lot. There was about 90kms between towns. I had been driving 30-40 minutes or so out of Loxton and I looked ahead to see what looked like a man walking on the other side of the road and totally brown from head to toe.

I thought what the heck is this guy doing? Then the moment he saw me, he literally dived for the trees and bushes on the side of the road like I had absolutely frightened the life out of him. So I’ve driven very slowly up to where he dived into the bushes, and there’s no sign of him at all.

I pulled the car up and looked, the trees and bush was sparse, so it made no sense that I could not see him at all. He was gone. He was totally brown all over from head to toe which was strange. We were 45km from the nearest town and his reaction to see me was that he didn’t want to be seen.

He just vanished. I’m pretty certain it wasn’t a man.

The terrain where I saw this thing is mainly farm land. There is vegetation along the side of there road here and there but only for about 10m or so and then its farm lands. But as you get closer to Swan Reach, there is a national park that goes on forever.

When I first saw it, it was heading towards me on the other side of the road. It looked as if it was looking down looking for something, then he looked up and saw me and dashed into the bushes.

It was a bit taller than 6ft. It was pretty big. As soon as he saw my car, he was off.

It was a huge surprise that I couldn’t see him when I pulled up. Even if he lay flat on the ground I would have seen it. There was a slight hill, but there’s no way it would have been that fast to get over the hill.

I’ve been on the road for 30 years and I’ve never seen anything like this.
