Myself and a friends were 4WD’ing in a Hilux around 10.30 at night past the Pine Forest Picnic Area. We were doing about 60kmh and slowed down for a corner. We came around the corner with the High Beams on and we saw something in the grass on the right side of the road.
It was like two metres of long grass and all like, thick scrub.
This was a big whitey grey thing like a tree stump. As we got closer to it, it stood up and started walking on two legs. We were only 11 metres from it and it was in the high beams so we got a pretty good look at it.
It stood out because of the colour of it. It was like it was crouching down.
When it stood up, it was front on, right in front of the car. I was staring at it and it was staring back and started walking towards the car. We were doing about 30k’s. I got a pretty good look at it, but my mate pretty much S**t himself and took off up the road.
When we drove passed it, it was probably 3 or 4 metres away from the driver’s door.
It was about 7 to 8 feet tall, it was pretty tall and it was pretty broad as well. I didn’t see hands or feet or anything because I was staring at its face.
Its face was big and rounded. I didn’t see any ears and that, just these two big black eyes. And they weren’t reflecting or anything like that. I’m trying to think what sort of animal its fur was like…. Maybe a mouse, like mouse fur? It wasn’t shaggy.
When we saw it, it was just dead silence. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing. When we went passed it and it was out of the lights, we couldn’t see anything. We had a friend about 1km behind us and he said he didn’t see anything.
I said to my mate, ‘Did you F***ing see that?’ He said, ‘You saw it too?’ and we took off.
It didn’t look like it had a mouth or nose, it was like they were hidden under the fur. There was no bald parts or anything like that. It was really tall and 3 or 4 feet wide. It wouldn’t have been anyone in a suit. It was bigger than a person. It was 4 or 5 K’s in the bush. Nobody would have hauled a massive suit all that way out into the bush at night and hope one might come along.
I want to go back and try and get a picture of it.
