We were on our way to a party at Gary’s house.  I was only 10 at the time.  Mum’s car wouldn’t make it up the hill, so we parked it and were walking up the hill.

We were just coming up to the fourth turn, when I saw this thing running down the hill, at first I thought it was a kid.  It kept going at this fast pace, and I was worried they were going to get hurt.

I yelled out, and it moved across the road, onto the slope down at the edge of the road.  As it got closer I could see it was definitely hairy.  It was a man-size thing, hairy and looked so strong.  It had black hair.  It was thickset, very well built, I would say almost chunky.

The nose was flatter than a human’s, and the eyes were drawn back into the head.  It’s lips were black.  It looked at me for a while, then turned away, and slowly gathered up speed and went off down the hill.

I think the hair was longer on the back, but I didn’t really notice the arms and legs, I was just looking straight at it.

It’s a pretty open area, and it was in the afternoon.  I knew it was a Yowie, because Gary had spoken to me about people he had talked to who had seen them.
