Location: Between Chinchilla and Miles, Queensland

Event: Yowie Sighting

Date: 2016

Time: 19.30

For my work I do strenuous hours and a lot of travelling. I was on a back road up near the Barakula State Forest between Chinchilla and Miles.

I was coming back from work along a dirt road towards Miles, and this thing walked out on all fours. At first I thought it may have been a Deer and I also notice there was an animal carcass on the right hand side of the road. I didn’t stop, as I don’t normally stop for most wildlife. I’ll avoid them if I can but I don’t normally stop.

Then this thing stood up and looked at me, it was very similar to the sighting I had back in Victoria. It was right in the middle of the road and I couldn’t avoid it, and I clipped it with the left hand side of my bulbar. I had nowhere to go, I had nowhere to swerve, I had nothing.

I clipped it, and after I clipped it, it made the same type of screeching roaring noise as the one in Victoria. It was quite loud. It had all the same physical characteristics as the first one, but it was probably a little bit smaller. Still quite tall though. I clipped it at about 100km/hr. My first thought was it was going to come in through the windscreen, but it didn’t, it fell off to the side of the road.

I wasn’t going to stop like I did the last time because I started to have recollections of that first one I saw in Victoria.

After it went off the left side of the bulbar I couldn’t see too much, but I heard it. I didn’t stop. I wasn’t game to stop, I kept driving. I was that scared, I just kept driving.

I’ve been in the bush all my life and nothing phases me, but after this time, I won’t go back out into the bush. Not by myself anyway.
