Location: Jimboomba, Queensland

Event: Yowie Sighting

Date: August, 2012

Time: 9.30pm

I moved to Jimboomba in 2007 and lived there for 9 years.

I was driving along Teviot Road, Jimboomba not far from Flagstone Estate very late on a Wednesday night coming home from the gym. There were no other cars on the road it was dead quiet. I remember it being very dark at that time in the middle of winter no wind, no street lights. The road had not yet been widened.

As I was driving about 65-70km as road very narrow, I could see a tall black creature 20 metres ahead of me with very long arms pulling at a white marker dug into the ground on the side of the road.

I thought this was unusual behaviour for someone to be doing this. I noticed there was no visible colour differences between the head and arms and hands so not a human. It wasn’t a young kid. It wasn’t an adult. The creature was all dark in colour with very long arms out of proportion with human arms.

As my car approached the creature immediately stood beside the marker like a statue putting its longs arms beside its sides and feet together to avoid detection. It stood like a tree. I witnessed all this behaviour. The creature was 6 foot tall or more. As I’m driving passed, I’m thinking ‘I can see you’….

I have known of Yowies but didn't realise they are 6 foot tall or more (thought only 4ft), and it was all black.

I do believe without a doubt I had seen a Yowie that night. I looked on an Ariel map at work and Flagstone Creek meanders a long distance in thick bush directly opposite to where I sighted this Yowie. It was definitely not human. The arms were out of proportion, they were really long.

I was too chicken to get out of the car and take a closer look as I was scared I would drive the car in a ditch as so dark and I was by myself. I wished I had the courage to do so.

The road marker it was trying to rip out was about 70cm high. It was pulling at it with its long arms and big hands. It was very tall but not over weight. It wasn’t human. My first impression was ‘what the hell is that THING’, I’m not seeing a face of a human, I’m not seeing hands or arms of a human. The first thing that stuck out were how long the arms were. Then it stood like a statue and it must have thought I hadn’t seen it. I was the only car on the road.
