I walking to a Park on a path through the back of an oval/field that backs onto bush land. Its quite a populated area, but the bushland does lead onto the Nerang State Forest. It was starting to get dark, and I didn’t want to be walking alone in the dark, so I was walking quite quickly. I walked past it, then realised what I had just walked passed.

I caught a look of it from the corner of my eye. It was about my height, but when I went back there the next day, I saw that it would have been standing in a ditch.

He was a big one. It had very broad shoulders, smallish head, reddish orange hair (from what I could tell from this time of day). His shoulders were approximately the same height as my head, so it would have been close to 7ft tall.

As soon as I stopped, it disappeared. Not necessarily disappeared, but left quickly and quietly.

I have no proof, a few people ask why I didn’t take a photo. Well surprised, I didn’t think of it, and if the Yowie had continued to stand there I doubt I would have been game enough to take a photo.

People who have lived around this area for a while know they exist.
