Location: Riddells Creek, Victoria
Event: Yowie Sighting
Date: 24th February 2003
I was walking in bushland, it was the day after there had been a bit of rain and there were a couple of trees down. As I ascended further into the bush I couldn't help noticing a deep bellowing sound from far off, it stopped after about 30 seconds.
I thought it was strange but kept on walking. About an hour later I reached the fence line and saw a rather large human shaped creature moving down the fence line.
At first I wasn't sure what it was, but after a short while looking at it I came to the conclusion that it must be some sort of ape.
I had never seen an ape walk like this though. It was walking steadily on two legs. it turned around, it had an apelike face with a big jaw from what I could see, it also had a bulky build with long arms and short legs. It saw me and in a flash it had gone. I wanted to follow it but I was not sure if it was dangerous or not.
Until then I didn't believe in all the "myths" about yowies etc. but since then I have been doing some research until I found your site.
I'm sorry I couldn't give you any more detail, it all happened so fast.
