I had been feeding my horse at about a quarter to 7. It was just on dusk. The horse was calm.

I was just about to go inside, when I noticed on the other side of my neighbour’s fence there’s a tall shrub, and beside that was a creature standing about 5’4” in height. It seemed to have a small dark hairy head and a stocky type of build. It was staring straight up at me and at my horse, and my horse began to get quite agitated – as it was quite calm before and he was now throwing his head up in the air.

Then it was gone. My partner went looking for it around the property with a flashlight but there was no sign of it. He had actually seem something similar to it a few weeks ago. He said one ran across our boundary and into the neighbour’s property. It was taller than the one I saw. He said it was 6 or 7 feet tall – about as high as our garden shed. He said this big black creature just sprinted across in lightning speed and it was gone.

We’ve had two sightings but we never actually got that close. We’ve only been living here at Kilkivan since August.

When I first saw it, it was on one side of the shrub and then the other. I first heard movement like a few footsteps. Then it was just standing there. I walked over to the fence line and he was looking at me and me at it. I called out for my partner and he went inside to get a flashlight, then it was gone. It could have ran off without me seeing, I guess.

It wasn’t Human. It was about 5’4”, had a smallish Neanderthal looking head and a stocky build. That’s about the only way I can describe it from the brief time I saw it.

The horse was still very interested in something over the fence line for some time afterwards. I wasn’t imagining it – I know what I saw.
